This is very important for touch device where your fingers need to slide from edge to edge without anything getting in a way. Plus, this accentuates beautiful Kindle design making your tablet more aesthetically pleasing. Tablet is still held very securely by four corner tabs and will not fall out of the case even if shaken vigorously. - Cover snaps closed and puts Kindle to sleep. I primarily wanted a "kickstand" for my Kindle to hold it at a good viewing angle for browsing news sites. This cover provides three different angles for viewing the Kindle in landscape mode. Also, the cover, which is imitation black leather, is very sturdy and attractive. Also, all of the Kindle's ports, buttons, and speakers remain unobstructed while the cover is on the device.
