It does what the larger turntables do, with less size, better styling, and front firing speakers, where as the various incarnations of the CR-49 have side speakers and wasted space around the platter. My only minor gripes are no pitch control, and no flippable 78 needle, as it can't be good for the same stylus to alternate between 33 1/3, 45 r.p.m., and 78's. A Vestax battery portable I bought 2 years ago had an optional 78 stylus available, which I got, though it does have to be manually removed/replaced when switching back to playing LP's and 45's (Vestax and Numark make plastic AC/battery monoral speaker portable record players with pitch control, which are quite good, but without the cabinet styling of the CR-40). The unit as received has a tight, professional appearance, and looks very nice when installed.The display is a backlit liquid crystal, visible by day but not overly obtrusive at nite. The intensity of the display is adjustable by a rear mounted 4 position slide switch (Off, L, M, H). Medium works great for me. Rear mounted as well is a slide switch that enables or disables onboard automatic time adjustment for Daylight savings time. However I don't like the price and not having the easy to add sd cards. That said I read a lot of reviews before purchasing this one. I have other smaller android devices so i'm familiar with them. They are average. This little guy stays head to head with the Ipad. And runs virtually every app I typically use. And at 1/5 the price. Bottom line skip the $80 tablets (junk) and the $200 tablets (pricey) and get this. This unit has about double the power and memory of any other tablet in it's class. 1gb of ram and 8gb of storage with space for a 32gb sd card. The dual core 1.6 processor and quad core gpu scream. First as mention it does come with 4.1 jellybean which was very nice since the local stores seemed to keep wifi only devices here from the gingerbread era of android. Battery life ranges about 4 hours it seems to drain fairly uniformly even when locked but mediated through a battery management app and turning off wireless when not needed. The display gets the work done , and its fluid the animations thanks to the quad core. Chrome browser that was on pre-installed on the pipo was fairly fast and stable more so than my other android devices. Connection wise pipo comes with the OTG cable which is nice since most more expensive tablets makes you pay extra for it usually, it has a mini hdmi , and a mini usb host port as well as the dc in to charge and use the usb port at the same time. All in all this tablet is an great buy for the the price point. |
