The table is listed as hardwood. The exact type of hardwood isn't listed and I couldn't find it. That said, it is hardwood of some sort. The table is very sturdy. One should know the color is quite a bit darker brown than what is shown on the product page.

Assembly was easy and the directions were not needed. The only work was to attach the legs to the pre-built tabletop. For this there are 8 Allen bolts with barrel nuts, that drop into holes. This seems standard fare now days. An Allen wrench was provided but I used an Allen socket and a ratchet with a blade screwdriver to hold the barrel nut in place. Total assembly time was 6 minutes! There are small wooden plugs to fill the holes for the recessed Allen bolts on the legs. There is ample bracing on the underside of the table top.

The staining on all parts of this piece are extremely uniform. I found no variation, in that I mean light or dark spots that are out of the norm for the piece. It has a nice... Read more

The Strathwood Anderson Hardwood Coffee Table is well worth the investment.

The table is a hefty piece of furniture--the deliveryman left the package containing the table in front of my house and I had to move it into the backyard for assembly--I could carry it on my own, but it took some effort.

The packaging is impeccably done, each piece swathed in plastic wrapping; the legs are tied in place with green easily removed fabric strips. A separate plastic bag holds all the fasteners needed to construct the table. An Allen key is provided to insure a tight assembly. The only other tool that could be useful would be a rubber mallet that will allow you to place the wood caps securely into place without damage. Otherwise a regular hammer used with caution would work, too.

Assembly was easy; I had help putting it together, but this is definitely not a necessity. Basically, you are attaching four legs to an already prepared top. This requires placing... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Quality!, April 24, 2012

I was quite impressed with the quality of this product! The wood is thick, solid and heavy and has a nice "real wood" scent. It comes in parts: the table top, plus 4 legs, along with appropriate hardware. Attaching the legs was a breeze and only took a couple of minutes. The screws are recessed and come with wooden covers that need to be pounded into place, preferably with a rubber mallet.

Although more appropriate as outdoor furniture, you could also use this indoors if you have a casual decor.

I've uploaded a photo so that you can see the table. Take note of the color: it is a dark espresso brown, not the grayish color shown in some of the product's photos.

I was surprised to see this table's weight listed at around 30 pounds. Really, it is not flimsy at all and I would have thought it weighed a lot more. If you like the look, I think you will be quite pleased with this table.
