The IR movement detection seems adequate and responds fairly quickly. The light is not overpowering but is also adequate.The mounting assembly is innovative using a magnetic latch in combination with either a simple mounting screw, which is stored inside the battery compartment, or a supplied double-sided circular adhesive tab. The screw is very tiny and requires a good quality #0 Phillips screwdriver to actually use it. If your wall is hard or brittle you will probably be better off substituting a slightly larger screw and conventional anchor, or using the adhesive tab. You'll want to mount on a wall, not the ceiling, to achieve the most secure installation. The battery latch is tight and requires a small flat head screwdriver to open.
