Street parking in the Bronx is like playing bumper cars. People have no respect for someones car and will bump and maim your bumper just to squeeze into a spot. I was the same way when driving my old Honda, I didn't care to bump into someones car - I just needed to park my car. When I finally traded-in my civic the dealer had a rough time removing the license plate bolts because they were rusted and bent out of shape. Works great we have used it on our other car for over a year and that car is parked on NYC streets not one scratch on the rear bumper. Then I bought a Toyota Avalon which is hard to gauge when backing up. The first week I drove the Avalon I backed into a steel barrier at work in the parking garage and put a scratch in the bumper go figure. So before I parallel park with this car I take it out of the trunk to protect it from damage that I might have caused lol. |
